2011 Exhibition

Flora Twort Award

Awarded for paintings in water-colour and all water soluble media. The award is a cup donated by the late Flora Twort, the notable artist and founder member of the Society.

This year, the Trustees of the Flora Twort Gallery are offering the prize winner a one week exhibition in the Flora Twort Gallery.

Betty Haggard Memorial Prize

Awarded for sculpture, including wood carvings, ceramic sculpture and other constructions. In memory of Betty Haggard who was president of the Society when she died in 1982. The award is in the form of a copper bowl made and donated by Alison Fowler.

Hester Wagstaff Memorial Prize

Awarded for paintings in oils or acrylics executed in an oil technique. An award in memory of Hester Wagstaff who was very active in the Society. The award is in the form of an abstract sculpture by Mike Ewing.

Framed text

Heather Child Award

Awarded for craft work of any description. Donated in 1958 by the late Heather Child, a calligrapher of international repute who lived in Petersfield. The award is in the form of a framed text in illuminated calligraphy.

Josephine Majella Award

Awarded for paintings in pastel, line drawings, collages, prints and mixed media work. The award is an engraved glass goblet executed and donated in 1983 by Josephine Majella.

Wooden sheep pn a stand

David Headon Memorial Award

Awarded for a painting in any medium of a figure/naturalistic representation of the external world. The award takes the form of a sheep carved in wood by Andrew Heubler.

David Yellop Award

Normally judged by David Yellop who will present this award for his personal choice.

Frank Westwood Award

Awarded for work considered to merit a special award. The award takes the form of an owl carved in wood by George Taylor.

Visitor's Choice Award

Visitors are invited to nominate their favourite item and place the forms in a box. The winner is the maker of the item that received the most votes at the end of the exhibition.
